Today, I will share with you all a guest blogger who attended The Baby Gagoo Launch party in Malibu, California. Samara is a friend of mine, a true blue S&Ber and a wonderful person! I am honored she would write about her experience for me. So, this post is in Samara’s words and I have pictures accompanying the story taken by Samara, a couple of the other girls attending and by Vanessa herself. Please do not take the images. Thank you! 🙂
Ever since Vanessa tweeted about Gagoo Jammies for the orphan’s at Nkosi’s Haven, I knew it was something that I wanted to be involved in. I purchased some items to donate to the center and purchased a few pairs of pajamas for my family, but who knew that I would be able to get involved in a different way. A few weeks ago, Vanessa tweeted that she needed six more models. I tweeted Caitlin’s picture and Vanessa said “she’s hired.” I had been trying to find somewhere to go in order to use a companion fare that I had, so this was perfect. I booked the flight on the same day and Caitlin and I were excited to be headed to the Baby Gagoo Launch Party.
April 25th rolls around and it’s time to head to LA. We spent a few days at Disneyland and we were headed to our hotel for the event on Friday, when Ro tweeted that Vanessa would be appearing at The Grove at 2:30 and asked for our support. Nothing more needed to be said. We left Anaheim and headed straight for The Grove. We got there early so Caitlin and I had lunch, rode the train and did a little shopping. We were eating some candy on a bench when Lisa and Sylvia, two SnBer’s walked up and Julie joined us later. We were at the Extra set when we saw Vanessa arrive with her Gagoo models. She looked gorgeous and the little models were just so darn cute. Luck was on our side, because were able to stand right behind the stage, a little to the right of Vanessa. It was so exciting to listen to her tell the back story of Nkosi’s Haven and also what Gagoo represents. The crowd was mesmerized by her every word and there was so much positive energy. I was excited because I was able to explain to Caitlin that she would be modeling with these kids, so she got a glimpse of what she would need to do. I don’t want to give away the interview, but lets just say that Maria Menounos is an SnBer!! Make sure to tune into Extra see Vanessa’s interview. We were told that the show would air some time next week.
It’s now April 28, Baby Gagoo Launch day!! We were staying about 20 minutes away from the event, so earlier that day we made sure we were able to locate the address and spent a couple of hours at the beach. We went to the party a little early since Caitlin was a model and we saw the gorgeous Baby Gagoo signs that Carmine had created. After we valet parked, we met a few of the other families who had children that would be modeling the Baby Gagoo clothing also. Caitlin instantly bonded with the children and they were having lots of fun. We got to the house and the first person we saw was Carmine. He showed us where Caitlin would be getting dressed later, but invited us into the house and told just to hang out for a while. We looked at the auction items that were set up and decided to go the beach. There was a steep incline so we took our shoes off and made the journey. Waiting for us was melon mojitos, beer, wine and fabulous appetizers. There was also juice and water for the kids. The kids were playing on the beach and everyone was having a wonderful time. We were soon joined by the other SnBer’s who came to the event. We all sat down, chatted and took a few pictures. We did see Lisa LoCicero and Kelly Sullivan enjoying the event, along with Vanessa’s other guests.
A little before sunset, Caitlin and I made the trek back to the house in order to get dressed in Baby Gagoo gear and when we entered the dressing area Vanessa was sitting on the bed doing an interview. She immediately stopped and gave me a hug and said “You guys made it all of the way out here. I’ve got lotion for you!” Caitlin ran and gave her a hug and said “My name is Caitlin.” Vanessa said “I know” and gave her a big hug back. We then started talking to Vanessa’s assistant so that we could find Caitlin something to wear and Vanessa went back to her interview. As we were waiting, I was just soaking up the environment. I’ve seen many interviews that Vanessa has done on television, but to listen and watch her in person was very energizing. I was just soaking it all in. As we were waiting for Caitlin to get dressed, Hill Harper walked into the room. He turned around, shook my hand and said hello. He then proceeded to put on one of the hats and act silly. He is a very funny guy.
I enjoyed watching the children and parents decide which items they were going to wear. There was a full rack of Baby Gagoo clothes along with others laying on the couch and table. Vanessa has been putting in a lot of work because there were so many clothes in that room. While we were there, photographers were taking pictures of Vanessa and the Baby Gagoo clothes. Caitlin was given white Baby Gagoo sweatpants, a white Baby Gagoo shirt and a gorgeous Baby Gagoo cashmere jacket to wear. Caitlin loved her outfit and said that it felt so soft. We then went back to the house and Caitlin began to take pictures and show her outfit to the SnBer’s who were at the event. She was in her element, opening and closing the jacket and smiling big for her pictures. After pictures, we got into the food line and saw some of the wonderful items up for auction, such as, the GH Tour with Maurice Benard, Red Sox tickets, golfing with Carmine and American Idol Finale tickets. These were just a few of the items that were up for auction. The menu had items such as chicken fingers, steak fries, fish sticks, salad, macaroni and cheese.
After dinner, Vanessa spoke to the attendees about her charities Nkosi’s Haven and Sojourn, while a Nkosi’s Haven video was playing in the background. She spoke about how Gail Johnson works to keep these children with their mothers and once their mothers have passed away Gail adopts the children and pays for their education out of her own pocket. She let everyone know that all of the proceeds are going to these charities and encouraged everyone to donate. Suzanne Whang was the auctioneer of the event and did an excellent job. Our very own SnBer’s (Sylvia, Anna, Maria and Lisa) won the GH set tour. Josh Duhamel and Fergie were at the event and I must say Josh is so handsome!
Caitlin fell asleep, so we decided to head back to the dressing area to change into her clothes so that we could call it a night. Once we got back to the house, the desserts had become available. They had delicious strawberry, chocolate and vanilla sorbet along with cannolis and other candies. The night ended for us a little after 10 pm as we headed back to our hotel room. It was a great event and we are very thankful to Vanessa for allowing her fans to be a part of it.

I was home in NJ having a Twitter party with those who could not make it out to Malibu for the party. We had a grand old time with a “It’s okay to be….” parade and in doing so, we actually TRENDED #Gagoo!!
It was inspiring to be a part of making Vanessa’s Launch successful, loving and trending around the country. I was thrilled for my friends who were able to attend and part of Vanessa’s night. Everyone who is on the waiting list for jammies (to get yourself on the list, please use the NEW email address: email@example.com) helped Vanessa reach her goal and in their own way made Vanessa’s dream come true… Not to mention has clothed many children who needed warm, soft jammies when they maybe didn’t have any to begin with. Everyone should be proud of their efforts! Go to babygagoo.com for more information and updated website this week (I hope!!) with all the cute clothing!
And, remember…. It’s okay to be… anything YOU want to be. Just be yourself as you do it. In doing so, you make the world a better place and you become a better you. It’s okay to be… a part of something that is bigger than yourself…… It’s okay to be… inspired by others successes.
It’s okay to be a true blue S&Ber who loves both Vanessa and Maurice, ALWAYS. 🙂
Have a smart, fun, thoughtful and amazing day.. Maybe you can make a difference, even if it starts at home!
A HUGE thank you again to Samara, for sharing her and Caitlin’s experience at the Baby Gagoo Launch party! Caitlin is a cutie!! 🙂
Vanessa also made an appearance on “Extra” view some pictures here: https://snbgallery.wordpress.com/2012/04/30/vanessas-extra-appearance/
It’s okay to be…….. Nicholas at home drawing his version of Gagoo for Vanessa 🙂
The long-awaited Baby Gagoo Launch Party is finally here! It is tomorrow night at a private estate in Malibu, Califonia!
The Sonny and Brenda Haven would like to congratulate Vanessa Marcil-Giovinazzo and her team for getting her jammie project off the ground! This is a HUGE accomplishment and a wonderful cause helped by everyone’s purchase of a pair of jammies. I bet Vanessa must be on cloud 9 with the realization all this is really happening!
I want to take a moment and thank everyone who have purchased jammies (put their name on the Gagoo Jammies waiting list), for RT’ing Tweets and telling their friends about Nkosi’s Haven. The girls have worked so hard to help Vanessa reach the goal of 10,000 jammies ordered. Each and every one of you helped make her initial order possible. Thank YOU from the bottom of my heart for making someone’s dream come true!
Good luck to Vanessa and her Team tomorrow night! I hope they have a fabulous night, full of fun, love, peace and success! The Gagoo Fashion show will be so cute with all the little one’s modeling the very cute jammies and other articles of clothing Vanessa designed! I seriously cannot wait to see the crazy cuteness of these little children in their jammies!
To my #Team girls who are able to attend the event, I wish you all an amazing time on the beach with your toes in the sand! Hugs & kisses to you all and I can’t wait to hear all about it and see the pictures!

Today is Sonny Corinthos’s birthday!!
The Sonny and Brenda Haven wishes our favorite mobster a very happy day, full of champagne toasts, great food, awesome company and maybe a bit of cake! We hope his new year ahead is full of amazing things.. Like therapy, taking meds, being happy and content with himself and going to find his wife and start making amends.
Sonny has been a long-time favorite character of mine. Even throughout icky relationships, I have always loved HIM. He is charismatic, charming, complex, loveable, sexy, interesting, bold, brooding & unstoppable. He keeps me watching the show and interested in what happens next.
Sonny Corinthos just isn’t a character, he is a soap opera legend! He is the King of fictional crime families, he is a force of nature who escapes law enforcement/jail and always lives to see another day in Port Charles. No matter how ridiculous the story, for us, our group, he will always be 1/2 of our supercouple and we will always love the magic he brought to the screen when paired or pursuing Brenda.
Anyway, Happy Birthday, Sonny! Hope you have balloons, love and contentment on your special day!! Hope you DON’T get some!!! (hehe)
Baby Gagoo, Vanessa Marcil-Giovinazzo’s baby clothing line is being launched on April 28th in Malibu, California at a fantastic party at a private residence on the beach.
There are still some tickets left if you’d like to attend. Maurice Benard, Kimberly McCullough, Kelly Sullivan, Nancy Lee Grahn and Lisa LoCicero are attending this amazing party!
If you are unable to attend, you may still donate to Baby Gagoo. All proceeds collected for the event will be donated to Nkosi’s Haven and Sojourn Services.
Hope you donate or attend the party! It will be a fantastic time if you attend and if you can’t, you’ll be helping others by just donating.
Unfortunately, I will not be attending this event but I will have some of my girls who are able to attend. I will have a recap of the party and pictures of the event, fashion show and my girls to share with you in about 10 days. Stay tuned for the amazing cuteness I will be sharing with you… I cannot wait!!
Aren’t Gagoo and Fat Cat so cute?? I just adore them and can’t wait to see their adventures! Those images belong to @vanessamarcilg and they are part of Gagoo and the Land of Choices. When the link is ready, I will share that with you all!

Sonny and Brenda….
Why I fell in love with Sonny and Brenda and have STAYED devoted to them for all these years is fairly simple: I fell for them because of their natural chemistry and the natural pace of their courtship and subsequent relationship.
They were brought together as a semi-good girl and the bad, bad but very sexy guy. They had a few encounters but one day they “met” on the docks. Hands touched, eyes locked and all over the country, thousands of girls and women were wanting much more from Sonny and Brenda. We were ripe for falling in love, ripe for a romantic, bumpy ride.
We sat back and identified with Brenda. She was our heroine, our beautiful spitfire who captured our imaginations. We saw her hot chemistry with Jagger and were amazed he would pick the boring, insipid Karen Wexler instead of our siren. Brenda was smart & feisty! She was sexy and amazing. Brenda needed a man to set her world on fire.
Then Sonny happened upon the scene. He was suave, sophisticated (in a mobster kind of way), unafraid, strong and very sexy. He stole all our hearts in the flash of his sexy smile with dimples flashing all over the place! We were completely hooked on this character and what he could offer.
When Sonny and Brenda were together and things were good, things were out of this world FANTASTIC! They made the world sing and set our hearts ablaze. We fell in love with their story, which was told in real-time. It was not rushed, not stalled, not played around with. Their story rolled out in a steady pace. Some weeks 2 days a week other weeks 3 or 4 days a week. Not too much, not too little. It was just right, balanced and whole so other stories could play out and be amazing right along with theirs.
I’ll admit it, just like all my S&Bers will, The Wire tore each and every one of our hearts out. We cried and sobbed, just as we still do to this very day. We knew that Brenda was making a mistake in going about learing the truth. We knew that Sonny was making a mistake by not sharing. It all blew up in Brenda’s face, Sonny was distraught, our Brenda was devastated. Our couple imploded in probably the most destructive break-up I’ve ever seen. It was heart wrenching and scarring!
As the loyal viewers and S&Bers we are, we hung out for the ride. We watched the hurt grow and the ridiculous mess of Miguel & Lily. We watched Sonny and Brenda learn to deal with each other through Stone’s illness. Once he passed, the healing began. Sonny and Brenda came to an understanding and found themselves coming together, wanting each other again. Unfortunately, Sonny had married Lily in the meantime to stay out of jail.
Then Sonny left our Brenda standing in the rain. He had to choose Lily because she was pregnant. He couldn’t choose Brenda. She told him to “Be a good father. Make it worth it.” We cried with her as he rushed to the airport to stop Lily from leaving to be with her father. We watched Jax walk up and scoop up Brenda out of the rain. He rescued her from her intense sadness and helped her heal.
Brenda and Jax were on a yacht in the moonlight; she was bound to marry Jax. It had been a bet and she lost, so she was going to marry him and be safe. She thought she would be happy and set her sorrow behind and live a good life with Jax.
Back in Port Charles, Sonny and Lily were celebrating their new life growing inside of Lily. There was much for Sonny to celebrate but behind his happiness, you could see his sadness in having to let Brenda go. He set his feelings for Brenda aside and decided to really make a go of things with Lily. Sonny had a little too much to drink and Lily offered to drive home.
Jax and Brenda exchanged vows and were toasting each other. ******CLINK******
At that exact moment in time, Lily approached the car and as she put the key into the door… ****BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!**** (Best.Day.EVER.)
This was the birth of the greatest triangle in soap opera history! Emotions were running high for the characters and for the fans at home. We were all either TeamSnB or TeamJnB. No matter what, we were all TeamBrenda and wanted her happiness and wanted her with our favorite hot man.
Of course, I am a true blue S&Ber. I ALWAYS want Sonny with Brenda, Brenda with Sonny. I understood however, WHY Brenda chose Jax the times she did. Jax always saved her.. from her hurt and from herself. She was so hurt and damaged from her relationship with Sonny. It really stemmed from a trust issue. She didn’t trust her daddy, he always sent her away… I bet it rained each time she left for a new school or he left her after stopping for a visit- if he ever visited her. then Sonny wouldn’t let her in. He didn’t tell her what he was up to or in to. He left her to the pitfalls of her imagination and allowed her to fall prey to those wanting to take Sonny down. Sonny set her up for that in my eyes. He set the whole wire incident up by not trusting her. BUT, maybe he was right for not trusting her. Maybe she was too young and naive at that point. Maybe she wouldn’t have gotten “it.”
The Wire set off a firestorm of waves to follow. It even still carried through to last year. Sonny didn’t learn from The Wire. He still didn’t let her in to that place in his soul. It’s not pretty there and it gets messy. Sonny wants Brenda happy, uncomplicated, he wants her to be safe and loved. But, what he doesn’t get is this: Sonny needs to trust all aspects of Brenda. He needs to see that she is a grown up, not the young woman he lusted after passionately but now she is a worldly woman of substance. She is not a slut, she is not weak. She is strong and independent. She only goes away because she believes she is not wanted, not trusted and an outsider.
Both of them have issues. Both of them struggle to be their best Sonny, best Brenda daily. I just want to see their ride go ’round one more time. I want the dance to begin and fall in love with them again. I wish for them to get past the pitfall of The Wire. I know they “resolved” those feelings but with the way they ended, and how Sonny treated her, I believe they really didn’t heal those wounds. They just used a band-aid and a few kisses to mask the hurt.
I hope that when S&B find their way back together, the walls of trust come down on both sides. Sonny needs to allow Brenda to help him, let her into that not pretty place and be a man about it. Brenda needs to stop shrieking and crying and listen for a minute. She needs to open her heart to tha fact that Sonny won’t leave her crying and broken in the rain. That awful rain of some of our youths and our adulthood. I think we all think of S&B when it rains.
We want the car dealership, stolen alley kisses, hungry looks, sexy banter, fun dates alone and maybe a double date along the way… We want that passion to build, happiness to abound, maybe an adventure or two– where S&B work TOGETHER– and we want trust to be built between them. Trust is their issue. Always has been. Maybe RC can mend that and bring our S&B full circle…. Maybe we’ll have a sexy bubble bath scene that will take our breath away… All leading to a fantastic private wedding, full of candles, a simple white dress, a handsome suit and true, trusting love to flourish and grow in front of a minister and God.
The best part about their ride and ours, too, is this: Over the past 18+ years, on and off, only Vanessa and Maurice have played S&B. We watched both actors “grow up” thru the better part of 20 years. They have shared themselves in so many amazing ways with us! We are so fortunate in this fact. Our S&B have a true history, one that we cherish and remember. Now we just need TPTB to honor that history and bring S&B back, full circle and have them actually learn from their past, repair their mistakes and allow them to fully love & be together again. There’s so much to work with considering the history RC can weave into their story. He can make it full and round, with joy, angst and creativity. We just need Brenda back for a bit and soon!!
I hope someday soon we have our wish, our possible last go of their ride. I suppose we all must stay tuned and see where the show takes us.
Here’s an update from Suzanne Whang:
I wanted to take a moment and give a huge shout out to all of our S&Bers, people interested in either or both: Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo & Maurice Benard.
You guys are the people we do all this for! I love interacting with you all on Twitter and the S&B Haven. You each help keep Vanessa and her charities, as well as Maurice and his favorite charities in the spotlight. It not only helps them keep their passions current, but it helps with the continuing popularity of Sonny & Brenda and General Hospital.
I hope one day to blog again about Vanessa’s return to GH and to our beloved Brenda Corinthos.. I hope it’s sooner rather than later, and I also hope that when she does come back, Sonny and Brenda find their way back together despite the issues they have between them. But, I can say this, we will have fun when that time comes and savor every moment!!
Thank you all again for your support from all around this great world! I am blown away with the fact that I have had people from 90 countries visit my site since mid-February! You are all amazing and wonderful.. Wish I had the opportunity to meet each and every one of you!
