Hey S&Bers!

How’s it hanging? Yeah, here, too. Disappointed in the writing for our guy, Sonny and wishing things were different for him and us. I won’t get too wordy about him because it makes me angry to see this destructive road he’s going on. All I can see for an ending for him is prison or the funny farm… or possibly death but, I can’t bring myself to really think about that. Our Brenda can’t even save him right now, he is his own worst enemy and he is in very desperate need of help.

Okay, so Scrubs…

Ugh.. I hate the way TPTB wrote out Kimberly! It was quite uncreative and left a lot of us scratching our heads. None of it makes sense! While yes, Robin WOULD go help a frozen Jason during a normal time, she was separated for almost 2 years from her beloved little girl and her husband! She missed them and missed out on so much during that time! I honestly don’t see her packing she stuff up 2 months after her reunion and high tailing her butt back out of Port Charles, even to save Jason.  She could have been shipped off in an entirely different, in character way… Like work at the CDC in Atlanta. We could hear about phone calls and weekend visits, at least the HER CHARACTER NEED NOT BE DESTROYED!! As a writer, you could eventually still have Patrick move on if need be. He came on canvas as a horndog and eventually he could grow weary of a long distance relationship but still love Robin, thus creating a triangle if and when Robin were to come back full-time. That type of story would allow Kimberly to do her few days stints, longer or shorter depending on how her schedule is. It would have created drama, rather than sick, twisted plot points.

Yesterday, we saw a one-sided phone conversation between Patrick and Robin. It went from a sweet catch-up on events to a sickening, tummy churning, heartbreaking moment where Patrick hung up on Robin. That phone call made Robin seem a bit heartless not to dump her work and come running to help Patrick, Sabrina and their preemie. But, Sabrina and the baby aren’t her responsibility. There were NO SCENES for any of them to have a bond where Robin would even remotely feel connected enough to even TRY to come home! Honestly, this is just an impossible position for Robin to be in. She’s in deadbeat hell! She can’t leave to see Emma or Patrick, she’s not allowed contact of any kind (which I don’t get, it’s completely stupid!) and she comes across as a bitch, when we know she is not. She is kind, compassionate and filled as the heart of the show for many years!

Robin Soltini Scorpio Drake is a legacy character. We watched her grow up onscreen. Robin had many trials and tribulations…. Loss of her beloved grandmother, loss of her parents, loss of her beloved boyfriend to AIDS, discovery of her HIV status and so on and so forth. She grew and we loved her with all of her challenges, triumphs and finally joy. She is not a perfect character, she has flaws. Her parents were/are spys, it’s in her blood to thirst for adventure and risk her “normal” life, so that part I get if the writers really PLAYED UP that portion of her life but the fact they had her come back to PC but stalled her reunion, only to have her leave again 2 months later for a really outlandish reason… Why can’t she visit or at least email or make a phone call here or there?

Look, I know this is a soap opera, I understand the comings and goings of characters BUT, my problem is the complete disregard to legacy, veteran characters! I wish the writers would take care with characters like Robin, Frisco, Brenda, Ned, Sonny, Anna and all the others who come and go through the years. You can write them true to character all the while telling your story. Keep it soapy, keep the spark about WHY the fans fell for the character in the first place. As you ruin a character’s existence, either on canvas or off, you kill the feelings the viewer has for the once beloved character and for the show as a whole.

It’s a sad day/week when two of your favorite characters become destroyed by a simple swipe on a keyboard. Perhaps they should have deleted and started over again…. in many stories currently playing out on canvas right now. The past cannot be changed, just as this past week/month cannot change. Wish some writers had the foresight to understand the feelings of the viewers and the emotional attachment they have of their characters they have watched and loved for years.

Today is the 5 year anniversary/birthday of our website/blog… Thank you all for taking the time to read my posts, look at pictures and remember our babies. Hopefully one day we’ll have Brenda back so our love story can pick up once again. “Hi Brenda, it’s me….”

Yesterday General Hospital celebrated their 13,000 episode! It’s an amazing accomplishment considering the turmoil soaps have gone through in the past 5+ years.

Not much in the way of spoilers or even rumors about our girl as of yet, really…. Well, okay, possibly a few tidbits but nothing concrete.

First things first, there’s the ever constant rumor that Cartini are trying to get VM to come back for a longer-term return. Let’s cross our fingers and hope this happens. Don’t hold your breath, though… You may turn purple and pass out. 😦

Yesterday was an interesting episode and quite creative to work Brenda into the episode WITH Sonny in spite of the fact she isn’t on canvas. How did they do this, you ask? Carefully crafted, working in Barrett Enterprises into the Corinthos/Jerome storyline… In fact, I found it fascinating and almost genious…. It opens up another door for the Barrett family, including always our Brenda and now, Julia and possibly other Barrett’s we may not know about… I’d like to see more of Brenda’s past explored.

During the 13,000th GH episode, Shawn had come to Sonny with information as to who was backing the Jerome Family. He spilled the beans to Sonny that Barrett Enterprises was supplying the funds to Julian Jerome. Shawn inferred that perhaps Brenda was in charge but Sonny set him straight with the details of how Brenda was cut out of her father’s will and how Julia was in charge and offered Brenda half, but Brenda refused. Then the question was posed: Was Julia still in charge or was someone else? Shawn encouraged Sonny to call Brenda. It didn’t take much to get Sonny to speed-dial his soulmate and find out the particulars on Barrett Enterprises…… Julia sold B.E. to an unnamed person. Me thinks it’s Ric Lansing, in hopes to stick it backdoor style to Sonny! We’ll see! I also hear that Cartini want Julia back too, for a short stint, to go with Brenda’s longer stint… Again, NO BREATH HOLDING! We’ll see when we see it ON SCREEN, not one second before hand, please!

Let’s just say that TPTB are trying to make it happen. They’ve been attempting to lock down Brenda for a long-term return for a while now, and Julia showing up for a brief visit around then isn’t totally out of the question.

 

 

 

 

 

Take EVERYTHING with heaping grain of salt……. I for one, LOVE the chase to when Brenda comes back. We always have fun and we spin our own stories, full of hope, optimism and we radiate positivity. It is a soap, someone elses’ vision, but as always, it continues our ride with S&B. Enjoy the ride, no matter where it takes us on-screen because as long as our babies continue above ground, there’s always the chance they’ll finally get themselves together to be on the same page and ride off into the sunset together! I’m always up for a Brenda return… Long is prefered but short can be interesting, too. I just hope that whenever we see Brenda next, she’s strong, sassy, in charge of her life, happy and whole.

Here’s to a New Year and hopefully S&B!

Hi S&Bers!

Long time, no post. Well, honestly there’s not much going on in that department. Rumors are rare, but still insistent that we will have our beloved Brenda Barrett back this year but, as I always say, don’t believe anything until you see it….. Or I announce it. 😉

Anyway, we had a short tease this year with a 3 week, about 7 episode stint by Vanessa this year for the reboot of the Nurses Ball. It was an interesting, fun and head scratching run. First, we had our beautiful B show up at Sonny’s door, We saw them “reconnect” and start their dance, clearing up misunderstandings, discussing the torn up & thrown away letter, Sonny’s meds and Robin/Jason’s deaths. Then, Brenda dropped the bombshell that she was going to marry Jax. Fortunately for us S&Bers, she was doing it to make Sonny jealous and want her back. Unfortunately for us, it was childish and blew up in her face. Then some insanity with Michael took place that was thankfully cleared up. They left things a little bit better at the end of her visit but left us wishing Brenda would grow up & stop groveling for Sonny’s attention and love and we were very curious about the continued secret Brenda continues to carry.

I know the visit wasn’t exactly made for growth of a character onscreen but, S&Bers hoped that Brenda would have come to her senses during the last 2 years (was hopping for Sonny to wake up and realize EXACTLY why she left, but… uh, NOPE!) with her son(s)/daughter in Rome. All we heard about was Alec, but most S&Bers are convinced there’s a baby Barrett-Corinthos out there.

Sonny lost the love of his teenage years this September. ConKate died in a bullet to her heart. No S&Ber cried that day. We cheered that ludicrous story was now finally finished. I pray never, ever to hear about those ice skating, trumpet playing days ever agin. Thank you!

Those new, insane rumors about Lily Rivera Corinthos returning are still just rumors. Not saying it’s in any way true, but I hear she is out for revenge against Sonny for moving on, having more children and basically not killing himself after her demise. She apparently is the big bad of the mob scene. Have no clue if this is fanfic or true. I also have heard that Sabrina is their daughter. *HUGE GRAIN* of salt, peeps… Or drink a margarita. Being drunk for a undoing of Clink/Boom might be best if this all happens. (BTW: Carlos is supposed to be adopted brother of Lily, no blood relation between him and Sobby.)

I’m hoping during the year ahead TPTB drop the Sonny/Olivia angle as lovers, just continue them as friends and allies. I’d like them to explore more of Sonny’s business side and show us a heartfelt REUNION WITH ROBIN!! HELLO!! We need a Robin/Sonny reunion. I need him to be sorry for how he treated her, sorry for shooting her and to man up about his mistakes. Robin has always been loyal to him. Her loyalty and love for him runs deep…. Stone deep.

The new year promises new beginnings, possible happy times. I hope we hear some exciting news soon, I miss all you girls (and guys!) on the board, having fun on Twitter and Facebook. Hopefully in the next month or two, Lisa and I can find time to freshen up the board… Maybe the chat box will reappear? hehe

BTW, the show isn’t that bad right now. Of course, everyone has their opinions on this subject but I have been pretty engrossed in the show since ConKate died. It’s been pretty good! Check it out if you haven’t for a while. I hope you’ll be pleasently surprised.

Rumors, rumors and more rumors!

Hi S&Bers… Long time, long dry spell…

Our girl is not back and there’s CRAZZZZZZZZZY rumors afoot right now about a return in the works.

First off, I FLOVE the rumors of VM’s return. All rumors of her impending return sets my S&B lovin’ heart aflutter with renewed hope and passion for our favorite couple. Plus, it helps greatly that GH is AMAZING right now! I look forward to it each day, of course you have filler days that suck ass, but over all, 3-4 days out of the week has been kick ass!

First up: The Lily doozy.

I’ve thought about this for some time. If Frogface is alive and we must suffer thru her holierthanthou ass for any period of time, she better be an evil, crazy baddie who is out for all kinds of revenge! I want Sonny or Brenda to finally shoot a cap in her ass and call it a day. Then my S&B better get married on a beach, barefoot and happy in the sunset and make sweet, HOT, CRAZY love on the beach… OH and we better see that shit on air this time!!

Okay, now that other rumor about Brenda being sick….

Ugh. 😦

Our girl could be sick. It would make for an amazing storyline and give VM a lot to work with that doesn’t require crying over Sonny. It would bring heart to the show and connect many characters. There better be a cure, she better triumph over the odds and we better get our S&B wedding and honeymoon I mapped out in the last paragraph. haha

 

Anyway, there’s so many rumors out there, please be cautious and take them all with a HEAPING pile of salt. I don’t know what’s true or not. I love speculating and sharing ideas, its creative and fun but usually far different from the reality of the show that is onscreen daily.

 

What I can do right now is encourage you all to watch, the show is really excellent right now. A lot of old school characters in major storylines. There’s drama, intrigue, love, friendship, many people in scenes together and a lot of nods to history along the way.

Maurice has been doing an amazing, mind-blowing job with Sonny these days! He is out of couple-hell with Connie and is with his family and acting like a mobster almost everyday. Today he looked UBER hot and I caught a glimpse of Sonny of the 90’s. It was awesome!

Things are very quiet on the S&B front, wish some of the rumors would pan out with a Brenda return. I know eventually she’ll be back, the question is just “when?”

Spoiler about GH….. ConKate bites the dust soon, kicks off a murder mystery and leaves Sonny with Bedwarmer Olivia for a bit… Hopefully Brenda comes back, disinfects Sonny and shows him the way back to glory days with his soulmate.

Rumor: Robin comes back for a bit. I heard from (taping) August to November with taping in 2014 again. As I prefaced it, this is a rumor. Perhaps more info will come out during Kimberly’s PA brunch tomorrow.

I wish tptb would showcase the vets instead of the newbie crowd. Sick of Nu-Franco/oldTodd/TumorJason, Kiki, Silas, Ava. They have all eaten the show with nonsense and the other stories are so choppy.

Vanessa and Ingo’s event 6/9/13

Hi there everyone!! Long time, no write and I’m sorry about that. Things have been quite slow in the Sonny and Brenda universe and there just hasn’t been anything noteworthy to write about. But, I went to an event and would LOVE to share my experience with you all. 🙂

Yesterday, I went to a Vanessa Marcil and Ingo Rademacher event in Point Pleasant, NJ. I know, I know, J&B… yuck… BUT I left that feeling at the door and was very open to meeting Ingo. If we really look back to the triangle of the century and really looked at the magic of what made it stick and resonate with us, it was the magic that happened between Maurice, Vanessa and Ingo. We cannot deny that and I was really curious to meet him and see what he was all about. I can say that I was not disappointed and very pleasantly surprised with my feelings!

I got VIP tickets for the event some time ago and was looking forward to event day very much. My cousin, Mandy, joined me and unfortunately, Lisa-Lo couldn’t make it, so I invited a local S&Ber, Bianca to join us. We arrived a little early and were there in time for when the doors opened at 9am. Uncle Vinnie’s is a small venue in Point Pleasant, NJ and such a great place to see a comedy act or a meet and great such as this. Dino is the man in charge. He’s a great guy, very accommodating, friendly and I liked him very much. Anyway, we scoped out our table, next to the stage and made ourselves comfortable. Vanessa, Suzanne and Ingo arrived around 11am. They walked in to a very excited crowd. In fact, the place was filled with very eager, excited fans! Vanessa saw me and came over to greet me, Mandy and Bianca. Following her was Suzanne, who showed me her very gorgeous engagement ring!! (Congrats again, Suzanne!! eeeeeeeeee) They both went back in to the private area and then Suzanne came back out and entertained us with an introduction of herself. She spoke about her struggles with cancer and how she became friends with Vanessa on the set of “Las Vegas.” Suzanne told us about how she came to do her part of Polly (a one day part) and how Vanessa encouraged her and the writers to continue the role. During the time Suzanne was appearing on “Las Vegas,” she and Vanessa became best friends. So, after a few minutes, Suzanne introduced Ingo and Vanessa. They entered into the room to the still very excited crowd and took their seats.

The three of them bantered back and forth and created a very comfortable, inviting atmosphere between them. They took some questions from the crowd. There were questions to Ingo about DWTS and he even showed us some moves. I must say that Ingo is such a stunning man in person. TV does not do him any justice! He is very funny, open, honest and at ease with himself. People asked him about his son, Peanut; how did his name originate (they called him Peanut in the womb and when he was born, he fit his nickname with how he looked and the nickname became his permanent name.), they asked about SUP boarding (Ingo has a huge meet to train for that is in about 2 months, July 28, in Hawaii), then we got on to what were your favorite scenes and such. Ingo loved the magic of the ’90’s and wishes that they could go back to that style of writing. His favorite was the triangle between S/B/J. He also loves his banter with Carly/LW. He told us about his passion for sports and especially now, SUP boarding. Vanessa spoke about her last stint and how she wasn’t able to talk about it and spoil anything. She said that she loves playing Brenda and whatever the writers write for the character is okay with her because that is who the character is at that time. She then told us the story of when she first started working with Ingo and how he ggot fresh with her after their scene and he slapped her on the ass and when along on his way. She then went up to Wendy Riche’s office and said she didn’t want to work with him. Wendy said to her that once Vanessa sees the scene on-screen and sees the magic, she’ll change her mind about him. VM said it took about 6 months for her to change her mind and fall in love with him. She also said that Steve Burton took her to her prom. You can follow Vanessa on Twitter @VanessaMarcilG. The question of if they were coming back soon came up and the both said that if they were asked and their schedules allowed, they would be back. Ingo told us to continue tweeting RC &FV that we want them back and that was our best tool in expressing what we want.

They finished up their Q&A and took pictures with the fans. Always gracious, fun, kind and very patient with the approx 100 people in the venue. Then they took a break, the regular ticket holders left and the 45 of us VIP’s stayed for a longer meet and greet with V,I & S going from table to table. Ingo came and sat with us with a cup of coffee. We spoke about Hawaii and pretty much stuck with that. He and his family raise chickens and have an amazing island life. I loved to see how passionate he was about his family, Hawaii and his life there. It’s really nice to see a person comfortable and happy with his life.

Vanessa came around and took pictures of Ingo and me (hehe, she took about 10 of them. :)) and then we took pictures with her. V looks very healthy, happy and there’s a luminosity about her that is very evident. It was a pleasure to see her as always and she is absolutely one of my very favorite people to see. She’s so giving, joyous and lovely. She chit chatted with us for a moment and went along to the other tables.

It was time to go and unfortunately, in the rush to go, I forgot to say good-bye to Suzanne and Ingo. (bad Ro!!) I thank them from the bottom of my heart for a fabulous day and for being so amazing with everyone. So patient and kind!! I did say bye to Vanessa and she is just so sweet to me. I just love her to pieces.

Upshot on my feelings for Jax/Ingo. Ingo>Jax. I am totally TeamIngo but anti-Jax. hehe Still and always a S&Ber but I think that Ingo is the BOMB!! Now, just to get Maurice, Vanessa & Ingo into one room and have a pic with all 3… It would be amazing!! haha It also would keep this S&B fan of the 90’s VERY HAPPY and inspired!!

I didn’t see any S&B/J&B competition. It was a very nice event in that way. Everyone was accepting of each other with no eye daggers anywhere. There was one moment where Ingo was telling us how he was tweeting how Maurice wasn’t verified, so he was joking that he wasn’t sure it was him. He then encouraged us to tweet Maurice and get him riled up. hehe, reminded me of the time at Vanessa’s event in 2011 where we knew that Maurice and his family were coming and Vanessa & Nancy told us not even acknowledge that Maurice entered the room. He is very accustomed to fanfare. It was really very funny! I also saw the guy who was at Maurice’s NJ/SI event in 2011 who  joined Maurice onstage and acted out a S&B scene. The guy played “Brenda.” We laughed so hard that day, we were all in tears! He’s such a good sport! I then saw him in LA at The Sportsman’s Lodge and then again, yesterday. I told Vanessa about it and she thought it was hysterical. She then at one point during Q&A asked him what it was like to play Brenda and act opposite of Maurice!! HAHA …. I then found out later that night that his name is Tim and he went to school with my cousin Frank! What a small world!

Okay, so that pretty much concludes your newest installment of the Adventures of Ro and hopefully something fun will come down the pike and I will have more soapy S&B goodness to share soon. I hope so!!

Bittersweet

That’s what I call this visit of Brenda’s…. Bittersweet. From start to finish her visit held promise and we had very high hopes from the start.

What I loved, absolutely adored was how Brenda burst back into Sonny’s life and gave him a meal and a half to think about… Not like the looney tunes happy meal in Shadybrook, but a real meal fit for the man he is. First, Brenda scolded Sonny about not reading the letter. THANK GOD that was addressed! I swear, if they left that out, I think S&Bers everywhere would have had a fit! So, it was covered and Sonny felt like a dumbass for not reading it. Then Brenda had asked him to be with her…. Oh, Brenda. But, hey, it wouldn’t be S&B if they didn’t have this push/pull, I’m ready/you’re not thingy going on between them. As for Sonny, he had a lot on his plate when Brenda showed up. The week before ConKate was breaking mirrors and screaming at herself while Sonny was in a coma up stairs sleeping. Now, she was in Shadybrook, finally getting treatment for her crazy personality disorder. Sonny was kind of expecting her or one of her alters when he opened the door to Brenda. Sonny was knocked for a loop when he saw his beautiful & very sexy Brenda on his doorstep. This kicked off a whirlwind of emotions between S&B and all their fans. Our fire for them began to burn once again.

I’m not gonna recap the whole stint, I’ll be here for days, analyzing the nuances and every little beat that passed between S&B and everyone in between.

Loved the Nurses Ball red carpet with Sonny, Brenda and Carly. I loved how feisty Brenda was and how she wasn’t gonna let Carly win this time. I do think the red carpet could have been a little better but I loved it and it’s cheesiness anyway. I didn’t love what happened between Michael & Brenda but I thought that it was fun and interesting. Brenda’s motives were not to hurt Michael. She tried to help him. Then came in the Carly factor and it was too tempting for Brenda to pass up. While it was a little juvenile, it was much better than Brenda sobbing in a corner over both Sonny and Jax. Right?

The truth came out and Brenda left with her head held high…. Then she ran into Sonny at the airport.

Sonny was still at the airport after Dante/Lulu/Luke/Laura came back from Greece. Olivia disappeared and Sonny was just still standing there. In walked in Brenda. It started out like they were walking on eggshells but then it blossomed. Yes, Brenda did tell him she loved him. She said she thinks she’ll always love him. They talked about her loving him but how he still had Kate. Sonny replied with, “There is no Kate.” Then Brenda said “How is it we always wind up here? Running into each other? Maybe it’s a sign we’re meant to be together.”  She talked about trying again and even asked him to join her in Rome.. All the while at this point. they were standing close to each other, so close they could feel each other’s breath on their faces. In hushed, sexy whispers she spoke of all the wonderful things they could do together… Sonny was torn, still confused and reeling from the last few weeks of mind-blowing information. Honestly he’s in no position to go anywhere, imo. But, he said this lovely piece: “Maybe someday we’ll have a shot, but in order for us to have that shot we need time to heal.” Yes!! I’ve always said since she left last time that they need to find a common ground again to start their healing process and here it is. The healing from their broken relationship will begin and he can heal from being dumped by ConKate.

Finally, Michael remembered what happened and that Brenda wasn’t lying.

As Brenda gets called to board the plane, Sonny reaches out, grabs her arm and pulls her into a hungry kiss and full embrace.

How do I feel about our Brenda’s visit?

Honestly, I had a lot of fun with it for a few reasons…

• She was not weepy B sitting in the corner crying her eyes out.
• She was not on the run.
• Brenda didn’t need protection.
• Brenda showed up right away, not hidden away for a few months in a forgein country.
• Brenda was strong, knew what she wanted and had a lot of spunk!
• She didn’t let Carly win. I chalk this one up for a win on B’s side for getting one over on that bitch, Carly.

I didn’t love every second of it. The whole Michael thing was a bit squicky and I tried not to focus too much on what it all really implied. Perhaps I really just knew in my heart that Brenda would never touch him. Thank God that feeling was right!! I would have loved more interaction with Sonny, maybe a scene or 2 with Lucy, Patrick, Emma and maybe Max & Milo. But, I can’t nitpick too much about anything. I am way too happy that she came back and Vanessa really looked like she had fun this time and that’s what matters. The next visit I think will be more about our S&B journey.

With this all said, this has been very bittersweet for me in many ways. I know some S&Bers have hopped off the bus along the way this time. I can’t help that but what I hope is that you’ll all come home again when Brenda comes back to Port Charles again maybe this summer. Tune in and see their story unfold again, perhaps you’ll like what you see, maybe not… Who knows but you’ll never know if you don’t check it out.
